profile you will create or update your "Ship From" information as well as set
certain defaults among several things. You will also create a new user name

If you are signing up to WebShip for the first time, you will be required to
create a Web Profile. There are five sections that you will be asked to fill
out: Login Information,
Ship From Address, WebShip Preference,
Communication, and Confirmation.
All these sections can be edited at a later date. (See
Managing
My Web Profile.)
-
Enter User Name
For the user name you must use an email address. If WebShip tells you the user
name already exists, it more than likely means you have mistyped your email
address. You will be prompted to re-enter it.
-
Enter Password
For the password, use something that no one will be able to guess.
-
Secret Question and Answer
You will need to choose a "Secret Question" and the "Secret Answer" in case you
should lose your password in the future. You may want to write this down and
hide it in case you should forget your user name and password.

you.

Here you can setup all your defaults. For example, you can set the default
service to always be Express when you start WebShip. You can also skip this
section and edit at a later date. For more information see
Managing My Web Profile.
The following is a list and a brief description of the defaults you can set.
-
Service Type
If you use one service type more than the other, it’s recommended you set the
service type here. That way it will always appear on that service when you
start Webship. The two services you can choose from are Express and Ground.
-
Shipping Method
Shipping Method indicates to the Loomis driver where the shipment needs to be
picked up, i.e., Reception, Shipping, Office, or Other. If you choose "Drop
Off", the driver will not be scheduled for a pick up.
-
Drop Off Location
The Drop Off Location drop down menu has a list of all the branches in Canada.
If you are going to choose “Drop Off” from the Shipping Method drop down menu,
you can specify the default branch you will be bringing the shipments to.
-
Bill Shipment to
There are two options to set as defaults, Pre-paid and Collect. Select Pre-paid
if most of your shipments will be charged to you. Select Collect if the most of
your shipments will be paid for by the receiver or a third party. (You must
have their Loomis account number.)
-
Recipient / Third Party Account #
If you ship Collect and use the same account number on a regular basis, you can
add that account number here. This number will appear on the shipment screen as
a default. (Receivers that have an account number saved with them will
overwrite this default.)
-
Notify Me
You can set the Notify Me section of the Ship a Package screen so that all
shipments either being sent or received are emailed to you automatically. The
email will be sent to the email address setup in the Ship From section of the
Webship Profile Manager. You can choose from “When package is delivered” and
“When package is shipped.”
-
Notify Receiver
You can set the Notify Receiver section of the Ship a Package screen so that
all shipments either being sent or received are emailed to the receiver. The
email will be sent to the address saved with the receiver selected. You can
choose from “When package is delivered” and “When package is shipped.”
-
Export Reason
Export Reason determines the general intention of the shipment, i.e., the item
is going to be coming back to Canada eventually, or the item is going to stay
in the country it is being sent to, and so forth. The three choices available
are Permanent, Temporary, and Re-Import. Permanent means the shipment will
remain in the country it is being sent to. Temporary means the shipment will be
returning to Canada. Re-Import means the shipment is being returned to the
country it was shipped from (i.e., returns or warranty items.). You can set the
default Export Reason to appear on the Shipment screen. This only applies to
international shipping.
-
Bill duties/taxes/fees to
This only applies to international shipping. Any package that crosses a border
is subject to duties. You will have to determine who is going to pay for those
duties at the time of shipping. But here you can set up the dominant choice as
the default. There are two options to choose from. DDU (the receiver pays for
the duties) and DDP (the shipper, you, pay for the duties.)
-
Country of Manufacture
Country of Mfg (Manufacturer) is the country the item was made in. In the
Preference screen, you can set the default Country of Mfg. For example, if most
of the items you are sending are made in China, you can put China here. This is
used for international shipping.
-
Cost Centre
The Cost Centre allows you to reference your shipments in Shipping Reports,
E-Billing, etc. for shipping cost analysis. A Cost Center can be alphanumeric,
i.e. "123", "SALES", or "123SALES" are all acceptable. Saving a Cost Centre in
the Preference screen means this cost centre will appear on the shipment screen
and can be used for each and every shipment. Receivers that have Cost Centre
saved with them will overwrite this default.
-
Special Handling
Special Handling is for packages of large unusual sizes or for packages that
haven't been packaged properly or haven't been packaged at all.
-
Units Of Measurement
Set your default type of measurement. The two options are Imperial (pounds and
inches) or Metric (kilos and centimeters).
-
Create common package sizes (Standard Packages)
If you have standard package sizes, you don’t have to add those package details
every time you ship. With this feature you can name and save these package
details. Then when you are ready to ship, you can choose these saved “Standard
Packages” from a drop down menu in the “Ship a Package” screen. (For more
information see Standard Packages in Manage My Profile.) You can create up to
ten Standard Packages.
